Celebration of learning event

Harlow learning event
Lifelong learning minister Bill Rammell presented awards to 17 OLP learners at a 'Celebration of Learning' event in Princess Alexander Hospital, Harlow. The union sponsored event on 18th January highlighted how NHS staff can improve their careers through learning at work. Pictured in the photo is Buena Cordero, OLP's accredited assessor, with learners on the new ITQ programme. The work at the hospital is part of an extensive OLP programme to support staff pay bands 1-4 in the health service.

A new publication from JISC highlights the research carried out by OLP into the learner experience of elearning. Link to download the new publication. The printed booklet can also be ordered from publications@jisc.ac.uk.

Programmes for Health Care Assistants
OLP is now engaged in programmes to develop elearning support for Health Care Assistants, who number almost a quarter of a million staff in the NHS and related employers.

The programmes are being run in conjunction with the Department of Health's Widening Participation in Learning Strategy Unit, and the public sector trade union Unison. Contact Julie Bromwich for more information.
